Episode 106 - Foxy Lady: The Pam Grier Experience
from Matinee To Midnight –a Podcast for Big Screen Enthusiasts · host matineetomidnight
Welcome to 'Matinee to Midnight' - a podcast for big screen enthusiasts. For episode 6, Simon and Matthew pay tribute to the legendary Pam Grier and programme and discuss three of movies each which showcase her diverse 50+ year career and status as a ground-breaking icon. And keep your ears peeled because, in a Matinee To Midnight exclusive, Simon and Matthew also manage to get some personal recollections of working with Pam Grier from a true legend of cinema. Let us know what three Pam Grier films you would programme and suggest topics for future episodes by emailing us at [email protected] *** On this show, Simon and Matthew, the co-proprietors of the fictional 2-screen repertory cinema, 'The Roundhay Garden', will be discussing and recommending movies built around a particular topic. The topic could be a genre, an actor, an actress, a director, a year in movie history or any other theme that comes to mind. And they will each be choosing movies from the topic to programme at the cinema to fill the schedule - a 'Matinee' movie, a 'Prime Time' movie, and a 'Midnight Movie'. This is a film recommendation show, but the movies Simon and Matthew choose to discuss are not necessarily their favourite films on a subject. They are the films that they feel are interesting and worthy of discussion - and best fit into these programming slots.
