The topic could be a genre, an actor, an actress, a director, a year in movie history or any other theme that comes to mind. And they will each be choosing movies from the topic to programme at the cinema to fill the schedule - a 'Matinee' movie, a 'Prime Time' movie, and a 'Midnight Movie'. This is a film recommendation show, but the movies Simon and Matthew choose to discuss are not necessarily their favourite films on a subject. They are the films that they feel are interesting and worthy of discussion - and best fit into these programming slots.
