Hello everyone, I'm the toring and I'd like to welcome you to my podcast, The Apocalypse. On the show I'm going to explore the lore of Where Will the Apocalypse. With version 5 of Where Will, and a couple of official video games all right around the corner, I thought it was a great time to refresh my memory on over 2 decades of lore while inviting others along for the ride. If you like what I'm doing or have any questions feel free to hit me up on the Twitter or Patreon, both of which I'm the underscore to ring in this T-O-E or I-N-G.
That's enough for me, let's get to it. Welcome back to the fire pop. Are you ready for another lesson? Good.
Because tonight we're going to go over another of the 13 tribes that are willing to accept almost anyone as a member. For tonight's final introduce you to the children of Gaia. The children of Gaia are studying contradictions for their Gaia's warriors, yet they want nothing to piece, no gory work harder and plead more humbly for cooperation between the tribes than they do. None grieve more of them and force to shed the blood of a fellow werewolf.
More than any other tribe they value compassion for all of Gaia's children, even those that hold them in the greatest of contempt. These gory view their compassion is weakness, only to discover that the children's hatred for war doesn't stop them from fighting, and fight well they do. Before I get too far ahead of myself though, let's go back to the beginning. Much like the other tribes, they have their own creation story.
Way back in the darkness before time and history began, Gaia was all alone and through her love sprang the source of life. All beings that lived upon her surface had enough to eat, breathe and drink forever and always. As time passed, Gaia were needed to evolve, and part of her evolution was to defy her physical and spiritual forms. During this evolution world, strong and too existence creatures were given form.
The common separate physical from spiritual and the world were weaver and wild were formed. Where previously they had impaired us, now they were scarcity as those beings on the material side suffered from a lack of spiritual sustenance. Equal to the physical sustenance and those in the spiritual side lacked. Gaia suffered to feel her children suffering this world for the very soul of the world was being eaten alive by the world.
However, Gaia called upon her children to eat her and rescue her for the eater's souls, while many left to her aid. It was only wolf who succeeded in the task, but was unfortunately killed in process. Wolf was the first of the guys creations to cross the threshold into death, but through her love for the goddess, Wolf was reborn as the child of Gaia now, knowing the secret of death. According to their legend, all of the guardian are descendants of that wolf and thus all know the secret of death.
We pulled that secret within our hearts of the one day, use it to overcome evil and triumph in the apocalypse, where we are all children of Gaia. They believe that the separation of werewolves into tribes is a hollow lie and illusion of the weaver, cursed laid by the worm. The other step of a womb that is the gauntlet is still there, festering like an open sore on both Gaia's body and spirit, and is the duty of her children to heal. This was the first apocalypse to step a tone for her in time going forward, for even though Wolf had saved Gaia, dark times were still longer.
All creatures left in the shadow of the gauntlet is the beast of war in his minions, ran rampant slaughtering creatures into storing food, but the first time the world knew war which read even more, want and lack. Wolves committed unspeakable acts upon each other fighting against each other for scraps. They've borne alliances against strength by excluding others for this is the way of the work, and this gave birth to the tribes. To have more for themselves some killed the pops of other wolves had transgression that absolutely horrified Gaia.
She lamented the death of these pops in her tears, formed a bowler for their tiny spirits. There in that holy as the holy places in the shade of the world tree, Gaia nurtured these innocence, but a time when all the living world went hungry these martyred pops were filled. As the great mother fed them, she also taught them. Like, all wolves, they already knew the secret of death, but she had taught them the secret of life.
Gaia set unto these pops. View were once the pops of all tribes. Now, view are pops of one tribe, the tribe of all life, but she also had quietly only to them, and wants to do a pops of one tribe. Now, we're pops of all tribes, for all tribes of our one.
As Gaia returned to now a dulled pops to the world, she spoke again, saying, the worm breeds scarcity, fear, and shame. Gaia soes abundant's health and joy. All the creatures must choose between these two. You, my dear children, must show them the way.
The other tribes were amazed by the purity of the newly christened children of Gaia, and lay down their weapons to be forgiven by the children. All of the daughter pledged to work together into heed Gaia's will on tribe. However, most still carry three illusions from those days. First, they think the tribes are separate from each other when they are not.
The other two are children of Gaia and nothing more. Second, they think all the creatures are separate from one another, but they are not. Our brothers and sisters think that the enemies of Gaia and the meanings of the world are separate from them, but they are not. All enemies of Gaia are still children of Gaia.
This is the greatest and most difficult lesson for all of us to learn. And remember, as the Gauru humans and other animals all ranged across the world, they expanded in multiple life forms such as the bounty of Gaia. As they expanded so too did the worm, and it's super-realed stuff through three faces, three forms on earth. Two of these faces, I've already mentioned, the Peter's Souls and the Beast of War.
They were visible as they tried to destroy life and humankind wherever they could. The Gauru and other followers of Gaia defended life, and it was too strong to destroy it by these forces. However, there was yet another aspect of the worm, the Defiler. This face did not strike directly where it could be seen, instead it broke deeply into the corners of humankind's heart, corrupting them and teaching them to hate.
The Defiler did more than just detaetered them. It also turned to Gaia as very bouncy against her. It's a top man that they didn't need to stick to a breeding schedule like the other animals, and that they could have children year round. It knew that like so many rats in a confined space, man would eventually use up the land of resources before turning on itself.
As the Defiler's teaching spread, humankind began to rapidly overrehe. Resources began to run out, land was being poisoned with their waste. Greater numbers of humanity led to greater organization, which led to them worshiping the weaver as a children, how to live together in larger and larger groups. The rise of the weaver within humankind threatened the garden more than the root cause of the problem, the Filer worm.
They decided to destroy the excess humans. It was a shameful day for all of us when the Impergium began. All over the world, the Gauru began killing humans and their children, and the process of breeding horrors upon the world, even worse than the worm's land. The children of Gaia stood against us from the start and pleaded with the other tribes to stop as they revealed to them that the damage that they were doing to humanity themselves and to Gaia.
They stood before the other tribes that were scorned, ridiculous lander attacked and assassinated, but they stood their ground. Their honored game, them more and more support from the other tribes as they took all the punishment their opponents could muster. Though they were battered and beaten into the ground, still, they rose again. Still, they renewed their cries and forgave their persecutors.
The blood of their dead cried out from the park stir if their spirits calling for justice and voice louder even though the tongues of the living. Back with the Black Furies, they brought a challenge before all the tribes. They stood before the Assemble Council of all Garden knowing that if they did not prevail, their entire tribe would be slaughtered. The challenge of the children of Gaia was one of Gamecraft, and response to the challenger, who was more adept than any of their own.
Instead, the selected member of another tribe, who was even more wise in themselves. This brought their brothers and sisters face to face with themselves, and they knew profound shame. The Impergium was stopped in the leaders that had profit from it were deposed. The surviving children of Gaia could have demanded restitution or retribution, but instead, they chose to forgive them all, proving a great teaching of the tribe.
When they react against every worm scheme, they fail, but when they act on their principles, they succeed. Much like during the Impergium, the children of Gaia pushed for peace during the war of rage. This had some unfortunate side effects, though, as some more vengeful, fairly approached them under the flag of peace only to slaughter them. The flip side of the coin was otherwise pretending to be children in order to set traps for Pharaoh, while still others found themselves fighting to protect their friends and allies, their pacmates and settlements.
After both of these extended conflicts and their semi-peaceful conclusions, the children of Gaia spread out like the other tribes. They tried their best to find those willing to pursue peace in the face of violence, finding their early Christians in Rome, having been drawn to their teachings and forgiveness and allenists. The Dark Ages found them pursuing a chill-rate code and preaching into their fellow guard, while attempting to mediate between them. The Victorian age brought about the discovery of the Americas, where the children found themselves advocating for a peaceful alliance with a pure tribe that called them their home.
Here in the modern day, the children of Gaia find themselves one of the larger tribes, and while some claim this is due to their reluctance to fight, it is in truth because of their openness. Anyone that wishes to join their tribe is freely accepted, including members of the Third Brie, treated with the same equality as any other member. Their packs and seps are loose groupings of friends and family, with the only major difference being that each step is two elders who must both excel in mediation. The voice of the goddess who is obviously male and the arms of the goddess who is always male.
While other tribes pulled back from a humanity, the children of Gaia constantly involved themselves in human politics, pushing for such things as free speech, civil rights, sexual and racial equality. While the children are strong advocates for both peace and mercy, it is unity above all else that they strive for. Mercy is for fellow guardian, those who can be cleansed of the influence of the weaver and worm. Peace is their dream, once the tribes of the guardians of the united against the worm, the apocalypse war has been won.
In search of and support for this message, they have added their own precepts to the living, create and pursue peace whenever possible. The tribes quest for peace, mercy and unity is aided by their packed total unicorn, a powerful spirit of purity, compassionate and peace, but ferocious and battle. A noble and healing spirit that represents the pure understanding and unbridled love of Gaia. In some nation, the children of Gaia chose to fight the worms corruption in a different way than most tribes, by offering a different path of healing.
They believe that as long as matter and spirit remains separate, the world will be a place of pain and tears where even Gaia weeps. To heal the gauntlet things to heal the division within our own hearts, they believe that until all of our unified the fight for Gaia can not be won. That the only way to unify is to fight for peace and show mercy to those who can be saved while destroying those who cannot. You are the wither with them as a child of Gaia, or against them with the worm.
That's all I have for tonight. Next time we'll cover the storytellers of storytellers, though, the honor. But until then, tuck in and don't let the worm bite. That's it for this week's episode of Lorelea Pocklips.
