Jon "Vasu" Seskevich has been a trailblazing nurse clinician and primary disciple of Ram Dass's for 50 years. After two years of obsessively reading and re-reading Be Here Now in the early 70's while hitchhiking and practicing kundalini yoga, Jon endured a difficult LSD experience and took a shot in the dark writing Ram Dass a letter to ask his advice in processing the bad trip. Much to Jon's surprise, not only did Ram Dass write him back, but his return letter set in motion a lifelong teacher/student relationship between the two that directly led to Jon creating his own revolutionary career and curriculum in compassionate nursing care at Duke University between 1990-2019. Jon is a breathtakingly genuine and humble sweetheart of a man, a record keeper of the highest order, so in love with the world and earnestly devoted to cultivating path of the expansive Heart. For the Love Serve Remember heads and hardcores, this episode is an absolute gold mine - chalked full of mind-blowing first hand accounts of Ram Dass sewing the seeds of Love in the West, as well as the full circle experience Jon had being Ram Dass's nurse on one of his last pilgrimages to India in 2004.  My friend Jon "Vasu" Seskevich recorded this podcast on the day before he was to undergo heart surgery, which I have released in the early morning hours of his surgery (August 16, 2022) as living prayer for him and his extraordinary passion for alleviating the suffering of beings. As you listen, know that Jon is open to healing thoughts and  energy being directed his way. The world certainly has much still to benefit from this true saint, who is deep undercover agent for the divine. In the final moments of this episode performs a round of a rare English translation of the Hanuman Chalisa on his harmonium. Wanderer, The by Fanny Burney (1752 - 1840) LibriVox This is the fourth and final novel by Fanny Burney, the author of Evelina, Cecilia, and Camilla. "Who is "Miss Ellis?" Why did she board a ship from France to England at the beginning of the French revolution? Anyway, the loss of her purse made this strange "wanderer" dependent upon the charity of some good people and, of course, bad ones. But she always comforts herself by reminding herself that it's better than "what might have been..." This is not only a mystery, not at all. It's also a romance which reminds readers of novels by Jane Austen. Published in 1814, the same year as Mansfield Park, it shares some themes with it. It is also very modern, speaking freely of independent women (like Elinor), weak male characters, and unrequited love. Yes, a love triangle is lurking behind the scenes, and, in this case, it is not clear if the happy ending is suitable. At the time when it was published, critics did not like this political novel, and said that the difficulties which "Ellis" faced Crome Yellow by Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963) LibriVox Crome Yellow, published in 1921 was Aldous Huxley’s first novel. In it he satirizes the fads and fashions of the time. It is the witty story of a house party at ‘Crome’ where there is a gathering of bright young things. We hear some of the history of the house from Henry Wimbush, its owner and self appointed historian; Apocalypse is prophesied, virginity is lost, and inspirational aphorisms are gained in a trance. Our hero, Denis, tries to capture it all in poetry and is disappointed in love. The author, Aldous Huxley, was born in 1894 and began writing poetry and short stories in his early twenties; this was his first novel and established his literary reputation.
