Episode 13 - The return of Arcade Cabinets (KillerQueen)

from Warp World Podcast · host WarpWorldPodcast

After week’s of talking about how Nintendo is going to undersupply with the SNES Classic edition, GrandPOOBear and Jaku completely change their tune. Nintendo announced that they will be bringing back the NES Classic in 2018, as well as continuing to produce the SNES Classic through next year. This, along with local Targets and Walmarts being shipped 30-50 units on launch day, makes Poo and Jaku feel like consumers won’t be let down this year like they were last year with the NES Classic’s original run. Rockstar Games released the first trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 and it looks like it’ll be another hit for them after GTA 5’s release 5 years ago. Poo and Jaku talk about what they could learn from GTA’s success and what they hope Rockstar will incorporate into the new game. Poo and Jaku welcome on Nick and Josh, creators of Killer Queen to talk about how they get started with building the hit arcade game, as well as where they see the game going in the future. They talk about their upcoming event, BumbleBash 2, and how they feel the game’s competitive community has evolved with the game. Check out the event on Twitch on October 6th! You can submit any questions you have to [email protected] for the Ask the Broadcasters segment!
