Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 in the Waxhaw region between North and South Carolina, and he was the 7th President of the United States. He was a soldier during the American Revolution at the age of 13, and was captured by the British thus becoming the only former prisoner of war ever to become president. He was known as the "people's president," had a rough and argumentative style, and liked to solve conflicts through physical violence and duels.
