Summary

Today I talk to Amanda McCaig who is an Ironman Triathlon finisher! Ironman triathlon is a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle and then a full marathon. With me training at the moment to do a half ironman this summer then a full ironman next year I couldn't wait to speak to Amanda. When I originally asked Amanda to do the podcast I wasn't aware of her background or story. I was already inspired by her achievments but when we done the pod and she opened up I was absolutely amazed! An incredible story. Amanda had hip problems when she was younger and got told she wouldn't be able to do any sports never mind an Ironman Triathlon, had to overcome a number of bad injuries and also opens up about an eating disorder she has worked at to overcome. She also isn't stopping at Ironman, Amanda is doing Celtman which she explains on the pod, insane! An epic story and a great conversation. Thanks so much to Amanda for coming on and doing the pod, enjoy folks! We Are Still Hungry

Amy S. Bridges and Paula D. Atkinson are Washington DC friend-wives hungry for more social justice, feminism, and truth around our culture's propaganda of weight stigma, diet mentality and thin idealism. Served with delicious sides of current makeup obsessions, celebrity gossip, and carefully considered theories about the queens on RuPaul's Drag Race. Amy and Paula are unapologetically liberal, spiritual, and hysterical. Hope you're hungry.
