Episode 17: Modern Women with Bonnie Hatcher
from The Unfairer Sex · host The Unfairer Sex
In the words of Paul Dolan, a professor of behavioural science at the London School of Economics, “We do have some good longitudinal data following the same people over time, but I am going to do a massive disservice to that science and just say: if you’re a man, you should probably get married; if you’re a woman, don’t bother.” Data has suggested that women are happier without children or a spouse, whilst men benefit greatly from the addition of a wife. Despite marriage being a two-way street, the grass being a little greener on one side has often come down to an inequality within relationships. Women have brought emotional maturity, continue to take on more of the unpaid childcare and domestic work and suffer in the bedroom when it comes to the orgasm gap. Skip forward to the year 2022 and women's liberation has seen a shape rise in the initiation of divorces and an increase in the number of women choosing to remain single, child-free and unmarried. As part of our guest series, we invited Bonnie Hatcher, Managing Director of ZAG drinks, to join us for a conversation around choice, being the 91% and female empowerment. We discuss a growing intolerance to low standards in relationships, greater financial freedoms and fertility options for women, and the pure joy of taking yourself out of the dating market. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording. *** As always, The Unfairer Sex is not sponsored so, if you liked our show, please show your support by liking, subscribing and sharing on all your favourite social media platforms!
