Episode 20: Founders of the #MeTooMilitary Movement on Creating Change To Heal

from Coffee & Change · host Bill Kirst

On this special episode, I interview the founders of the #MeTooMilitary movement, a group of Military Sexual Trauma (MST) Survivors and supporters who are creating community together to heal. They organize and unite veterans, service members and supporters from all populations and all branches of the armed forces to share our experience and advice. The #MetooMilitary movement unites survivors and supporters as a community. They connect survivors with resources and retreat information specific for MST. They are committed to researching, and supporting alternative therapeutic modalities to aide in recovery and inspire Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) among survivors of military sexual assault. Sexual violence in the military has been a problem for decades stretching across all branches of military service and all populations. This is not an issue that is gender specific and now more than ever survivors of MST need your support for better access to alternative therapeutic modalities which foster recovery from trauma.
