Episode 20: Louie and the Mets

from Philly Front Office · host Philly Front Office

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but one of my best friends is a Mets fan.  I know, I know, that's a total betrayal of trust.  I promises myself I would only have him on as long as the Phillies were ahead in the standings though.  We go through how our teams are doing in the second half, what we need for the stretch run, our mist hated Mets and Phillies ever, and some of his better run-ins as a Met in enemy territory at Phillies and Eagles games.  He comes on around the 22 minute mark. Before him though we have our weekly Philly sports wheelings and dealings including the Phillies signing David Robertson AGAIN, the Eagles finally signing Andrew Makuba as they report to training camp, Porter Martone going to Michigan State, and the Sixers trying but struggling to exist.

This was the Fortnightly Poetry project for October 16, 2011.Chesterton was a large man, standing 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and weighing around 21 stone (130 kg; 290 lb). His girth gave rise to a famous anecdote. During World War I a lady in London asked why he was not 'out at the Front'; he replied, 'If you go round to the side, you will see that I am.' On another occasion he remarked to his friend George Bernard Shaw: "To look at you, anyone would think a famine had struck England". Shaw retorted, "To look at you, anyone would think you have caused it". P. G. Wodehouse once described a very loud crash as "a sound like Chesterton falling onto a sheet of tin."( Summary from Wikipedia ) What The Tech Podcast guysfromqueens Being on the front-line of new media and technology themselves, Andrew and Paul discuss the many new technologies being introduced to the world everyday.
