Episode 206: The Black Dad CAN

from Free Lunch: $erved by Tron x Dawk · host TronBonafide x LoveDawk

In this Episode Tron (@TronBonafide) & Dawk (@LoveDawk) will be joined by two BLACK Fathers who have had two very different journeys to Fatherhood. They'll both give us the ups and downs that they faced along the way which has shaped and molded them into the successful father-figures that they are today. These dads are going to keep it real and give it to you raw as they share experiences on how they dealt with their Baby Mama Drama as well as navigating blended families. Donte Palmer (@realdontepalmer) Father of 3 ,lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife Lakeisha and three sons, Isaiah, 14, Taylor, 9, and Liam, 4.  In October 2018, Donte posted a photo to instagram and unwittingly turned a routine moment of parental frustration into a global awareness campaign championing hands-on fatherhood. The now-viral image of Donte squatting on the floor while changing his son’s diaper—without access to a change table in a men’s restroom—sparked an international discussion about evolving parenting dynamics and outdated caregiver expectations. With the support of his wife and three sons, Donte embraced his new role as advocate and founded Squat For Change, a non-profit with a mission to empower caregivers through education and inclusion. Donte has since partnered with Pampers to install 5,000 changetables across the US and Canada and through Squat for Change, provides community programming for hands-on fathers. Delton's odyssey began in 1991 When his first daughter was born. Delton was 17 at the time and didn't have it all figured out but knew he wanted to do all he could to raise his child. Now at the age of 47 Delton is now raising his fifth child who was born in 2016. Fatherhood looks completely different from 1991 to 2021 but Delton has made it all look smooth.   While raising 5 kids by 4 different women hasn't been easy, Delton will share his story on what kept him determined to be the best dad he can be.
