In the mid to late 80’s an alternative rhythmic style was introduced to the dance floors and airwaves; it was the birth and rise of Latin Freestyle. The beats were for the most part a direct derivative of the early 80’s electro beat style popular in New York and beyond pioneered by Afrika Bambata and the Soul Sonic Force and other local talents.
