There is a shadow in the sky. It is a shade from the ancient past, one that smells of heroin and appears to be floating mere metres of the ground. It is the legend reborn. The myth of the Balloon Boyz has taken flight once more! Despite being long dead and partially eaten by polar bears, the legacy of the Balloon Boyz lives on! On today's episode, we discuss two tales of survival. One focuses around cannibalism, as we discuss the story of the Donner-Reed Party and how they attempted to speed up the Oregon Trail with less than stellar success. We also talk about the airship Norge and how it picked up the torch following the valiant deaths of the Balloon Boyz. We also have more from 'Who Let them Near a Keyboard?" and "Down the Rabbit Hole." So sit down and relax. Its time for the Late Shift. _____________________________________________________________ Music : intro: @aka-dj-quads, www.hooksounds.com/faq/#2 www.purple-planet.com #thelateshiftpodcast #history #comedy

MedCity FemFwd Marissa Plescia MedCity FemFwd podcast, hosted by reporter Marissa Plescia, explores the historical neglect of women's health and how this is gradually changing. The host emphasizes that, until as late as 1993, women were largely excluded from clinical research, and funding for women's health has been consistently inadequate. Plescia indicates that this is shifting, as a growing number of startups are focusing on areas such as female fertility, menopause, and heart health. Despite ongoing legislative action restricting abortion access in certain states, the podcast highlights an important counter-trend: more employers are providing support for women's reproductive health. The series aims to further unpack these developments by interviewing leaders in the women's health space, helping listeners understand the issues women face in navigating a healthcare system that has often been unresponsive to their needs.
