John Quincy Adams was born on July 11, 1767 in Braintree, MA, and he was the 6th President of the United States. John Q. and his dad John were the 1st father-son team to serve in the presidency. He defeated Andrew Jackson in the Election of 1824, an election that was decided by a vote in the House of Representatives. An avid walker & swimmer, he was also an owner of exotic pets. Learn more about the only POTUS to be elected to Congress after his term in office.
