Episode 3 - Boots on the Ground

from Building the Crisis: An Intensive Investigation on Housing in Canada · host Isaac Peltz & Gabrielle Brassard-Lecours

In episode one, we laid the groundwork for what's been going on in the housing crisis. In episode two we set up the solutions on a policy level, having Francis Cortellino and Marie José Houle on to discuss what they're doing within the system. However, policy and action take two kinds of folks-- policy makers, and people who work on the ground. Thinkers are important, theory is essential, but who works beside those living the reality of the housing crisis? This week we tell the story of how Isaac blew on online, and gained fifteen minutes of fame and we have two very well known people on to discuss the crisis. Lynn O'Donnel works from CACV, a group in Verdun, Montreal that helps people all over the city deal with landlords who choose to abuse their power. On the other side, we have Ricardo Tranjan, probably one of Canada's top thinkers around the housing crisis, and author of the book "the Tenant Class." These two dive straight into actionable solutions that are more practical on an individual level.Check out our written companion pieces on https://Pivot.quebec, and please subscribe to the https://therover.ca and https://duoduet.substack.com ! Isaac Peltz: @isaacapeltzGabrielle Brassard Lecours: @gabetteblAll sound was mixed and mastered by Isaac Peltz & Gabrielle Brassard LecoursAll interviews conducted by Isaac Peltz & Gabrielle Brassard LecoursThis was made possible because of a grant by AJIQ!
