Episode 33: Becoming Shame Resilient with Emily Hughes

from 'Do Your Thing' with Tamsin Williamson

This week I'm bringing you a powerful conversation I had with Emily Hughes about a big but often unspoken topic in Motherhood: SHAME Emily is a Conscious Parenting Coach and founder of Finding Flow Parenting where she empowers parents to stay centred and grounded, and helps unearth the patterns and limiting beliefs keeping them stuck. Emily is also trained in Somatics and subsequently a big believer in brain body parenting and parenting in tune with all the nervous systems in the household. During this episode, Emily shares invaluable insights around WHY so many women find themselves struck down by shame during Motherhood, and tells her own story with so much openness and honesty during about how she experienced profound shame when she became a Mum - and the impact that had on her self-esteem, relationships and sense of identity as a whole. Emily goes on to shares the healing journey she went on in order to face, process and overcome her deep-rooted shame by cultivating what she describes as "Shame Resilience", which forms a core focus of her work, and she generously guides listeners to become more shame resilient themselves so they can ultimately live more authentic and joyful lives alongside raising their kids. I really hope this episode helps normalise some of these deeply uncomfortable feelings that can so commonly come up during Motherhood - because the more we talk about them, the less alone we'll all feel.FIND OUT MORE ABOUT EMILY HUGHES:- Follow Emily on Instagram HERE- Visit Emily's website and find out more about her work HERE- Access Emily's FREE masterclass: Stop Yelling & Start Thriving HEREABOUT ME!
