Dolan Badger was a leader amongst his Cree community across British Columbia and Alberta. As a 2 Spirit individual, Dolan was a true advocate for the 2SLGBT+ community. Through colonization and homophobia the traditional teachings of this age-old belief were missing. Through his work and advocacy, as well as his status within the community, he worked to reclaim this once-revered status, but prejudice and ignorance in homes, as well as in the gay community, proved this to be difficult. Dolan was brutally murdered in this controversial case of possible "gay panic defense" or "Self-defense", you decide.
