Episode 7: Beliefs: What are They and Can We Change Them?
from The Wonder Land · host Amanda Jones
What has been learned and not questioned about what they are? Why does it feel like they are MY beliefs? Beliefs are thought-concepts/words/ideas that seem to have more substance, more solidity. And the impression of substance and solidity seem to be the ingredients the mind uses to determine “Real” or “True”. There is a sneaking suspicion, an intuited feeling that what is going on is permanently fleeting and has no edges to hold. Beliefs are like an imaginary line drawn in mid-air. Beliefs as crystallized knowledge units Beliefs seem to be necessary to navigate conceptual overlays Opening Quote: "Your beliefs will be the light by which you see, but they will not be what you see and they will not be a substitute for seeing." Flannery O'Connor
