Episode 8 Monday 26 February 24

from The Diary of Real Britain · host Fallowfields Media Communication

Send us Fan MailMonday. Today started on a bright note as my wife revealed that she has her new Medical exemption Certificate. Which is backdated to December 23.  Also as I was at the surgery I booked my annual asthma review. Then I went home and had my breakfast. Then I went to cambridge to take up an invite to tour the Kelsey Kerridge Sports hall's free weights gym. This will be used on an ad hoc basis. It is small and looks tired. But usable. However the road is gridlocked as they are repairing the road. Then in the afternoon I go off to the best gym in the city. The gym I use on Newmarket Rd.  Then I return and have a meeting on zoom. And then works food and then to bed. Tuesday. Its off back to work! I have a shock he hands me the keys and gives me some boots. I try them on and discover they are far too small. In fact they are 2.5 times smaller than my feet. And I have another ordinary day and then its off back to home. Then in the evening its another zoom meeting! Wednesday. We have returned to normal weather. Wet and soggy. Again not very many people around the cleaning round is slightly ahead of schedule. Then on the way home there is a flooding issue on the A14 which causes tailbacks and which causes me to be late home. Thursday. Another wet and soggy day. I do the cleans on time and in the evening go home. On the way home the traffic is even slower so I get home late again. Friday. Its the end of the working week and I had a shock! One of my former work colleage walks in and asks me my boot size and I tell him. He says thet by 11.30 I will have a new pair of boots. And by 11.30 I started wearing my new boots. I am very grateful. At the end of the working day I take my keys back to lion yard. But had forgotten the lion yard was closed all day. I asked my boss where do I put them he said lion yard. Sometime later I asked again and he said lion yard. And I said it was closed. In the end I left them at the car park where I leave my car. Saturday. First day off and the end of bootgate. I feel relieved that its all over. Today is gym and its early at 10am. Then its home and our usual fish and chips. And then to bed. Sunday. Its shopping but not an ordinary day as for the first time I get my haircut on a sunday. Then the weekly shop and then home. And in the evening I help to cook the sunday roast.
