Episode 91 - Trial Testimony: When the Truth is Revealed

from Educators Among Us · host Scott Barron

In times of trial and crisis, masks and makeup only last so long. What is seen when our essence is revealed? Primary evidence of our spiritual and emotional maturity is how we respond when people throw up on us, leaving a stinky mess, and we're stuck with cleaning it up. Highly effective educators wisely face conflict with courage...trials with temperance. We figure out how to stay strong when tested by colleagues, students, or situations because all that we may suffer in this life pales in comparison to the eternal rewards. This is the Educators Among Us podcast, with your host Scott Barron, Chief Reinvention Officer with School Growth.  In this episode, Scott discusses the challenges we all face at times, and how these trials reveal our true character. He emphasizes the importance of authenticity and credibility in teaching, especially during difficult moments.  Scott shares a story of his experience with a young parent with her kids on an airplane, suffering through some of the trying and very uncomfortable "parenting moments" that we all know too well.  Those moments, and the story surrounding them, are lessons we can each take to heart. Because trials will always come. It's what we do that people will remember. Barron encourages educators to face their trials with courage and temperance, reminding them that their actions speak louder than words.    Takeaways -Educators face unexpected challenges that test their patience. -Trials reveal our true character and values. -Authenticity is demonstrated in moments of trial. -Courage is doing the right thing despite fear. -Effective educators face conflict with courage and temperance. -Our actions matter more than our words. -We all have a personal testimony that impacts others. -Let your light shine in difficult times. -Reflect on your credibility as an educator.
