Episode 95: Rhyne Putman on his new book, "The Method of Christian Theology" [Part 2]

from Apologetics Profile · host James Walker and Daniel Ray

Theology, or more simply, the study of God, can seem like a daunting task for us, something only scholarly professionals or seminary students bother thinking about. There are many sub-disciplines of theology, such as historical theology, biblical theology, and philosophical theology. What do they all mean? Why are they separate? Is one more important than the other? And how might a layperson begin to better understand theology for their own witness and faith in Christ? We are all theologians, from non-believers to pastors and laypersons alike. And our theology will impact how we live our lives. On part two of our conversation with theologian Dr. Rhyne Putman, we explore more of the practical applications that emanate from a proper understanding of Christian theology. Rhyne's new book The Method of Christian Theology - A Basic Introduction is written for both the lay and academic theologian. It is an immensely helpful and practical look at how we can understand and apply basic theological principles to our own walk with Christ. Rhyne shares his passion for translating Christian theology and doctrine into disciple making for the glory of God in Christ and His kingdom. Dr. Rhyne R. Putman is associate vice president for academic affairs and director of worldview formation at Williams Baptist University, as well as associate professor of theology and culture at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served on the Board of Directors of Watchman Fellowship for over 10 years and has authored a number of our 4-page Profiles.Watchman Profiles by Rhyne PutmanDr. Putman has written our our 4-page Profiles on several leading atheist authors as well as the New Age teacher and self-help author, Eckhart Tolle: Watchman's Profile on Richard Dawkins: watchman.org/Dawkins Watchman's Profile on Bart Ehrman: watchman.org/Ehrman Watchman's Profile on Sam Harris: watchman.org/Harris Watchman's Profile on Eckhart Tolle: watchman.org/Tolle We are also offering a free subscription to our 4-page bimonthly Profiles here: www.watchman.org/Free.SUPPORT: To help us create more content like this, please make a tax-deductible donation here: www.watchman.org/give.Apologetics Profile is a ministry of Watchman FellowshipFor more information visit www.watchman.org © Watchman Fellowship, Inc.
