Concussion Corner Episode I: Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher MD Part IDr. Kutcher currently serves as the Global Director of The Sports Neurology Clinic, specializing in the diagnosis and management of sports concussion, post-concussion syndrome and neurological conditions in athletes. Prior to launching The Sports Neurology Clinic, Dr. Kutcher founded and directed the University of Michigan NeuroSport Program where he established the first fellowship in Sports Neurology. He is the Team Neurologist for United States Ski and Snowboard, and served as the Team Neurologist for the US Olympic Team at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. In February 2018, he will join the US Olympic Team again for the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Dr. Kutcher also serves as the Director of the NBA concussion program, and has helped develop the concussion policies of the NCAA as well as several college athletic programs and conferences. Additionally, Dr. Kutcher works as an advisor to the NFL, NHL, and MLS Players’ Associations. He led the effort to create the Sports Neurology section of the American Academy of Neurology and served as the section’s first chair. He was also a founding Co-Director of the annual American Academy of Neurology Sports Concussion Conference. Dr. Kutcher frequently speaks, both nationally and internationally, on sports concussion and athlete brain health, and has been directly involved in the development of educational materials for coaches, athletes and parents.
