Como nadador, foi campeão da Copa Latina em 2005, na prova de 100 livre e esteve no Mundial de piscina curta em Doha, em 2014, terminando em 16o lugar no 50 livre e 8o no revezamento 4x100 livre. Nadou abaixo do índice olímpico na prova de 50 e 100 livre para os Jogos Olímpicos do Rio-2016.Como treinador, tem como principal atleta Daiene Dias, que em 2016 chegou à semifinal olímpica do 100 borboleta, e em 2018 conquistou a medalha de bronze no Mundial de piscina curta de Hanghzou, na mesma prova.
