This past year alone, six states: Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas and Utah have either banned or limited the use of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in public colleges and universities. The use of DEI policies in educational institutions has been controversial for years now with Republicans leading the opposition and the incoming Trump Administration promising they will put an end to them .
