Example Video 1 for CreatingReorganized: Scaling your video presence in multiple languages via dubbing, Prof. Dr. Eleonore Soei-Winkels
from CreatingReorganized: The Business Promotional Video Podcast for Sustainable Growth · host Prof. Dr. Eleonore Soei-Winkels, Industrial & Occupational Psychology, IT Strategy, Coach
Testing the new Descript X OpenAI boosted #dubbing feature - what do you think, LOL? For context: The first 27 seconds are a live recording from my German lecture (surprise: German is my native language). Then I WROTE what my AI voice clone should say in English ("Now Descript AI Dubbing from my German to English with my voice clone is applied", and I have to add, that I trained my AI voice clone based 1000 videos for my two shows #CreatingReorganized and #PostdocTransformation, where I speak English). Then in another #Descript project, I had AI dubbed my German recording into English (US) in my AI voice clone, exported the MP4 and then added that to this video project. Reason: Descript won't let me dub only a selected part, but the full audio would be dubbed, which is reasonable as this is a experimental use case, to be honest. Here are my thoughts: I can still record authentically both takes in German and English fast. That's just 27 seconds, and dubbed, which took hours of production. But it's way better than expected and if your aren't (yet) attached to my voice and personality, this is a game changer! For example, in corporate training videos, the story isn't about the narrator, it's about how to use the product or service. And then the human voice actor isn't that important. For #PersonalBranding and building trust with my personality, prosody and sense of humor, I am glad, I can speak well enough English to reach those, who can understand me, LOL. I am very sure, that the technology will advanced quite fast to be fully satisfactory and I am excited to see what's next in Descript's pipeline. Kudos to the dev team!
