Exodus (Extra Nuggets Preview)

Remember how “Father Abraham had many sons and many sons had father Abraham..”? Well, that family started in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. So, in Exodus, the second book of the Bible, we see that Abraham’s many sons had turned into lots and lots of families that turned into a whole entire nation! And that nation or big group of people is called Israel. The people of Israel were called the Israelites and they found themselves in a bad spot. They were slaves in Egypt, which meant they were treated so badly. But, God had a plan. He wouldn’t leave His people in this bad spot for long.There’s so much in the book of Exodus! But more than anything we see that God WANTS to be with His people. He was with them and provided perfect food and shelter and was a guide for them each day! And that takes us to our special verse for the book of Exodus. Let’s read it together. You can repeat after me. “I will take you to be my own people. I will be your God.” Exodus 6:7a Let’s talk about some questions together. You can pause after each question to discuss and remember...don’t overthink it. The point is to get conversation started! 1.     Can you name the 10 commandments?
