Because even though the statistics that surround mental health and suicide are shocking, still little action is being made to prevent people losing their lives to this 'silent' killer.- Suicide is the biggest killer of young people.- Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 45.- Suicide is the biggest killer of Mum's with an under one year old.- 1 in 8 children now have a diagnosed mental disorder.But still... the mental health system lacks funding, appropriate treatments and needed support. Simply put, the mental health system is BROKEN.People are having to wait over 6 months+ for therapy, people are being told they're "not mentally ill enough" for treatments, people are still being judged for seeking help and many others still suffer alone and in silence. We're making a documentary that will tell the stories of real people affected by mental illness and people let down by the mental health system. A documentary that exposes the broken health system, what's going wrong, how we can better it and more importantly force well needed change.This isn't going to be a documentary that 'tip toes' around the issue.
