In this Bible Study Lesson 18, we will be beginning in Genesis chapter four and verse seventeen. Now let's get into the book of Genesis.   Genesis 4:17 And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. (KJV)   Cain was the firstborn of Adam, but because he killed Able, his younger brother, his birthright was taken away. As a matter of fact, Cain himself was driven from the presence of God. But, before we continue reading in the scriptures, remember how Adam was taken out of the way because of his sin? God took the first man Adam who was made a living soul, out of the way. That He would establish the second man Adam, who was made a quickening Spirit. God took out of the way the firstborn Cain to establish the child who came after. So that the elder would serve the younger. And thanks be to God that He orchestrated it this way. Because in Christ, although he was before all these things. Jesus came into the world under the law and the prophets to serve, not to be served.   Matthew 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
