It’s emerged that a number of farmers in the north west have been left out of pocket following delays to ACRES payments. Many hoped to receive 2024 advance payments in recent days, however they have now been told that the balancing payment has not yet been completed. This, in turn has left many fearing for their livelihoods in what is an already time of year for the sector. Leitrim farmer and former IFA sheep committee chairperson Kevin Comiskey is one of those affected. He says any faith farmers would have had, is wearing thin:
