Prior to that he had served as the principal choir director for the parish since 2017. He also runs the parish bible study, which meets every other week. Deacon Gregory also holds a PhD in Religious Studies, having written on the place of demons in the theological writings of St Augustine of Hippo. He and his wife, Diakonissa Amanda, raise their three children, Kaylah, William, and Hannah, in Winnipeg.  Max Harwood attends Holy Nativity Orthodox Church in Langley, BC, Canada. He has an Undergrad in Biblical Studies (Columbia Bible College) and a Masters in Theology (Orthodox School of Theology, University of Toronto).
