Father Chris Garrett appointed to new role

Father Chris Garrett has been appointed as administrator of Sligo’s cathedral parish. Father Chris was ordained to the priesthood in 2023 and is a nephew of former Bishop of Elphin, Christopher Jones. Born and raised in San Francisco, he makes the move from the parish of Castlerea in county Roscommon. He replaces Father Declan Boyce in the role of administrator as he has been appointed the parish priest of Riverstown. Father Chris will commence has role on May 1st. Bishop Kevin Doran confirmed the news following mass at Nazareth Chapel on Sunday morning:
