Tech is a male-dominated industry.  Black women represent just 2.2% of the workforce, highlighting the need for greater diversity and inclusion efforts.  Many find themselves as the first or only Black person or woman in their organizations. Alana brings a wealth of experience and insight to this topic, having blazed trails throughout her life and career. From being the first Black woman in a programming position at the IBM Shreveport office to serving as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for multiple organizations, Alana knows firsthand the obstacles of navigating the tech industry as a Black woman.
