Hello and welcome to New Dimensions with Garabo. This is the More Jesus in My Life podcast. Today we're going to be talking about finding your validation in Christ. This is episode four of this series, so if you haven't listened to the previous ones, please make sure you watch and do this.

First, let's go to the basics. Validation, what does it mean? To validate something is to give an official sanction, a confirmation or approval to it, the same way that the government puts a stamp on a document like your passport to approve of its validity. That is what validation is.

But when it's relating to everyday situations, which is what we're going to talk about today, the big question is, if a man is seeking validation, where is he seeking it from? Or where is a woman seeking her validation from? That is the big crisis right now. Seeking validation from people, things and situations can kill our hearts.

It makes us lose believing in our significance and purpose in the world, especially when things don't go right. Have you ever been in a situation where you were yearning for somebody's love or you were yearning for somebody's acceptance and they just couldn't give it to you? And you started to question whether it's because of how you are or whether it's because of where you come from or anything like that. And you started to behave a certain way, which is different from how you usually behave in order to please that person or in order to please that group of people.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. You started to seek validation from the people because you thought that the validation that you had before is not enough because of the fact that they were not accepting you. So we're going to go to the Bible real quick. Proverbs 4 verse 23 says, Above all else, guard your heart for everything you do flows from it.

Yes, every single thing that you do flows from your heart, so you have to guard your heart. And Galatians 1 verse 10 says, For am I seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Basically, we are going to come to an understanding of that. All the validation that you need is from Christ Jesus and it starts in your heart. That is why Proverbs said, Guard your heart. Once you begin to believe that people validate you, that circumstances validate you, it doesn't mean the people have to be there.

They could be good people in your life, but they still don't validate you no matter how much they do for you. They are just contributing factors to your life. They are good positive energy, but they do not define you because then the minute that it starts to go wrong, that's when you start to question yourself. So I sat down and wrote down a few tips that you can begin to tell your heart and practice in your daily life called Living in God's Validation.

And the first one, I'm going to say, God's love and acceptance of yourself. Basically, God's love and you accepting yourself, those are the keys to value and significance or understanding value and significance. Because the journey of believing in God and believing in yourself brings freedom and renewed energy. And living in God's validation, that's what it's all about.

You are free from everything that can try to define you, including the devil himself. So every time that the devil tells you this, you know that, no, God loves me. And this is what he said. God's love is so practical, not only because he sent his only begotten son to die for us on the cross, but because every day if you walk with God and you allow him to guide you, you will begin to see his love being reflected in your life day by day.

And when you look at 2 Corinthians 1 verse 22, it says, And he who has also put his seal on us, given us his spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. God has put a seal on you. He has put a letter of confirmation on you. And he has given us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee in our hearts.

We walk with the Holy Spirit daily. And Jesus named the Holy Spirit as a comforter when he left and he told his disciples that I will not leave you as orphans, but I will send you one like me. And he was talking about the Holy Spirit. So right now the Holy Spirit dwells in us.

And if you haven't accepted Jesus Christ yet, the minute that you do, the Holy Spirit will at a certain time come upon you and you will begin to feel his presence and walk with him and invite him in everything that you do. And so you will get this fulfillment that the world cannot give you. That is why the Bible says that the peace of God surpasses all understanding. When you feel like you're not enough because you lost the job or because friends are not accepting or because your husband left or because boyfriends don't want you, then you still feel peace.

Why? Because God has given you his validation. So the situation may go wrong, but it does not mean you are a wrong person. That is what the whole sense of validation is about.

So you have to every day be walking conscious of that God has a seal on me. God has named me. God loves me. God has placed value in me.

That is what all of that is about. And if you want to go further, you can look at Ephesians 1 verse 13. It will also tell you about that. We were sealed and we were given the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance.

And now the second point of living in God's validation is you have to know God's word. Knowing God's word will give you all the validation that you need because it will teach you who you are. The Bible says my people perish for the lack of knowledge. Knowing who you are is a spiritual weapon in challenges because of the fact that whenever you are faced with challenges or the devil tries to throw things at you, he can throw things like fear or depression, different things like that.

You must have a defense. And what is your defense? Your defense is God's word because every time that the devil speaks fear, the Bible will tell you, you are strong. The Bible will tell you, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.

The Bible will tell you, you are valuable. The Bible will tell you, you are created in God's image. That is why when Jesus was tempted after the 40 days of fasting, when the devil was telling him something, he said, God said, he said, he referred to God's words. That is how we must be as children of God.

When the world whispers to us so many thoughts that bring depression, that bring anxiety, we must go back to his word because that is where we find our true worth. The Bible is called the good news because it enlightens your spirit. It tells you things that you might have not known about yourself, but that God intended about you. And he said, all the plans that I have for you are plans to prosper you.

They are good plans. And so that is why you must stay rooted in God's word always. God's word teaches who you are, teaches you who you are. And it tells you that you can do all things.

It tells you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. So stay rooted in the word of God. Keep listening to the word of God if you want to walk in God's validation because you will remain aware of yourself, your true nature, and only God can define you. Not people, not circumstances, not past relationships, not past friendships, nothing else but God.

And then the third thing is you have to learn to speak God's word. How do you know who you are and who your validation comes from? You have to learn to speak with boldness. Let your speech be rooted in God's word.

Jesus told the Pharisees, and he said, by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned. And if you look at James 3 verse 5, it also says, So also the tongue is a small man, but yet it boasts on great things. And it said how great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire. So a man that is in control of his tongue is in control of his body, is in control of his mind because you can use your tongue for destruction or for building.

So you must learn to speak good things about yourself. You must learn to speak great things about yourself. If the world is constantly telling you things, you must program your mind to have good speech. When we talk about powerful affirmations when you wake up in the morning, when we talk about meditation, when we talk about listening to good messages every day, reading your devotion, it is not just so that you can be a thing that you are saved or anything.

It is because it builds you up as well. Everything that you say about yourself ultimately manifests. So if you wake up and tell yourself, I'm beautiful, I'm kind, I'm loved, you will begin to feel that way. Even if it's not immediately in that moment, slowly your confidence will begin to build up.

I always like to leave notes for myself everywhere, like where my workstation is. Even as I'm recording this podcast, I have a paper right in front of me that says, you are creating magic. That says, never stop growing. That says, you are loved and saved.

And it makes me happy every time I see it. Instead of if I was seeing something like, you are nothing or anything that brings you down for that matter. So I hope you get the context and the difference and you're beginning to love yourself practically. And one of the ways is speak good things.

When people just want to mock you and say things, don't take it personally, but just make sure that you begin to say good things about yourself. And also avoid situations abundance is showing, so stay finding your validation in Christ Jesus. Thank you for listening.
