Fine Gael nominate Frank Feighan for the position of Leas Ceann Comhairle.

The Sligo Leitrim TD, Frank Feighan has been selected by Fine Gael as their nomination for the position of Leas Ceann Comhairle. The move takes place after Deputy Feighan failed to secure a Junior Ministers position yesterday. The Fine Gael TD had previously served as Minister of State during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Department of Health. Deputy Feighan said he expressed his disappointment at being overlooked in robust exchange with his party leader, the Tánaiste and party leader, Simon Harris. The Sligo based TD has been telling Ocean FM that he was disappointed to be overlooked yesterday and has urged the party leader to consider for any positions that may arise during the lifetime of the government.
