There is no current female retained fire fighter based in Donegal. The call comes as the local authority in the county currently recruiting to hire retained fire fighters for stations. To help with this the council, the council will host an open night this evening at Bundoran Fire Station. Taking place between 7 and 9pm, it will be an opportunity to meet and view the equipment and vehicles used by current retained fire fighters. Hugh Gallagher, senior assistant chief fire officer at Donegal County Council says its something they would welcome:
