First Gen!

In this episode of the Spartan Transfer Hub podcast, we discussed the unique experiences and challenges faced by first-generation students at Michigan State University. We talked about what it means to be a first-gen student, shared our own stories, and reflected on how our backgrounds shape our college experiences. Throughout the conversation, we emphasized the importance of building community and finding support systems that help us navigate both academic and personal challenges. We also highlighted the many resources available to first-gen students, the value of self-care, and the excitement surrounding the upcoming First-Gen Week, which celebrates and uplifts first-gen Spartans. We ended our discussion by sharing advice for new first-gen students, encouraging them to take pride in their journey and to seek out the connections and tools that can help them succeed.
