Fishermen walk out of meeting with Minister for Agriculture

There were heated scenes in Killybegs last night following a public meeting with Minister for Agriculture, Charlie McConalogue.The meeting was held to discuss the treatment of fishermen and fishing communities.It's understood that many people walked out in the middle of the meeting.The Department of Agriculture's handling of the fishing industry has been criticised by many recently.It was discussed in the Dáil at length on Thursday, with Independent Donegal TD, Thomas Pringle, also saying fishermen were being "shafted" earlier this week.Local fishing net manufacturer, Malachy Murrin, said the community feel disillusioned with the government.
