Fishing and Marine included within Fine Gael manifesto for first time

History has been made following confirmation that fishing and marine has been included in a Fine Gael General Election manifesto for the very first time.A 10-point plan devised by the United Representation of the Irish Fish Industry has been approved the party.Outgoing Taoiseach, party leader Simon Harris previously confirmed that he will look to escalate the issue of Norwegian and Faroese overfishing on Irish waters, including those off the north west coast.It's believed that Ireland's small fishing fleet stands to lose up to €17 million in 2025 from a proposed mackerel cut.Donegal Councillor Manus Boyle believes the part will provide unwavering support to those involved in the industry.
