FOCUS ON QUALITY, COMMUNICATION AND CUSTOMER'S NEEDS | With Ryan Drake and Scott MacMeans | The Business Spotlight

from The Business Spotlight Series · host The Business Spotlight Series

We Are Not Practicing AnymoreSince 1989 JFD Landscapes has been building things; beautiful lawns, flower beds, patios, hardscapes, and a reputation.  A business like JFD Landscapes has been learning, growing, and finding ways to make a name for themselves since the beginning.  Ryan Drake explains the growth the company has experienced over the years is a result of a focus on quality, communication, and they actually care about their customers and their customers’ needs.  Like he said, they are not practicing anymore.  In the world of landscaping, JFD Landscapes has literally been there and done that. Ryan Drake tells us his thoughts on how and why the business has been able to sustain such strong growth and a solid reputation over all of these years.  To him, the secret (but he’ll be the first one to tell you there are no secrets, just do the right thing) lies in people, attitude, and being present. Ryan talks about his employees as the people that make the company.  Get the right people on the bus and make sure they are in the right seats.  Treat people well enough that they know you care about them.  That goes for employees, business partners, and customers.  JFD Landscapes cares about the people they work with and serve.  From an employee’s perspective, Ryan looks to provide an environment of growth and opportunity.  Show your team what is possible and give them the room to perform.  Identify the right people from the interview process and find ways within the organization to all them to perform at their best.  That means moving people around the organization to make sure talent, attitude and responsibility align.  The same thought process comes into play when Ryan and his talented team are dealing with customers.  They want the right people working with the right people.  The goal is to have satisfied customers, so JFD Landscapes makes sure they have the right people in play when they put a project together. Attitude is key to Ryan’s success.  His level head and understanding approach to situations and challenges is something that separates him from others.  It is important to know that having a bad attitudes solves no problems and brings about more.  So, have a great attitude, it’s free!!! Ryan is a big believer in being present in the moment. Living in the current and dealing with the now.  By being present Ryan is better prepared to lead his company and serve his clients.  Being present allows Ryan the opportunity to be real and collaborative and engaged.  It’s the moments that make a reputation last. You can view the complete episode by clicking here: I encourage you to connect with Ryan:Email:                 [email protected]:             / ryan-drake-337ba946          Webiste:            https://www.jfdlandscapes.com/🔔 Want your business to be featured as our next Business Spotlight?
