Paul Klee war Maler, hat aber sein ganzes Leben lang Geige gespielt und ging regelmässig ins Konzert und in die Oper. Als Lehrer am Bauhaus in Weimar und Dessau erklärte er gewisse Grundlagen der bildnerischen Gestaltung gerne auch mit Beispielen aus der Musik: Takt, Rhythmus und Polyphonie sind Begriffe, die häufig vorkommen. Paul Klee’s Playlist FR Zentrum Paul Klee Paul Klee était peintre. Mais il était aussi musicien. Il a appris à jouer du violon à l'âge de sept ans et a fait de la musique toute sa vie. Dans sa jeunesse, il était membre de l'orchestre symphonique de la ville de Berne, puis il a surtout joué du quatuor à cordes et de la musique de chambre. En outre, il aimait passionnément aller à l'opéra et écouter chez lui des disques d'œuvres connues. Des termes musicaux apparaissent dans les titres de ses tableaux et, même en classe, il recourait aux bases de la musique pour expliquer les processus picturaux. Et nous savons qu'il connaissait et appréciait également la musique de ses contemporains.
