For the Love of Corn

The Three Sisters is the synergistic corn, beans and squash trio planted for centuries by the Native Americans. This episode delves into a Mendocino County gardener and corn grower’s love of the crop, as well as her views on agroecology, farm labor, and the challenges facing small farms and young farmers today. Maggie and her family are starting Three Sisters Produce Company this season, with the goal of getting more diverse edible plants to market for the benefit of both producers and consumers.
