Welcome to a new edition of the Famous Interviews with Joe Dimino series .. On this episode, we talk with Founding principal of Public Engagement Associates & Author Steve Brigham .. He has spent the last 30 years challenging himself to understand how our nation still struggles with systemic issues around race and racism six decades after the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964. His book, It's Never Been a Level Playing Field, is based on his experiences growing up in an all white community and working in primarily white spaces while also having been married for 19 years (now divorced) to an African American woman, raising two bi-racial children, and living in a majority Black county. His constant learning, questioning, and researching led him to spend 2020-2024 writing and rewriting this book. It’s quite a story.
