Our return episode deals with the lack of leadership and accountability in our country and around the world in every aspect of life including the political realm but not limited to just politics. The Church is under attack and in many ways, has succumbed to political correctness and a woke mentality which are straight from Satan himself. So much is happening in the world we live and we must not lose hope or surrender what we know to be right to those who have no desire for our survival and while there is a lot of desperation right now, the fact remains that there is a plan in place and we will soon see it come to fruition. President Trump is a man given to lead America by God Himself and God’s Will will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. Taken at the Flood by Mary Elizabeth Braddon (1835 - 1915) LibriVox Brought up by a parish schoolmaster with a hidden past, Sylvia Carew dreams of a future devoid of poverty. Will she be faithful to the man she adores or will she opt for the chance at wealth and position? What lengths will she go to and when all is said and done, will she be gratified with her "happily ever after"? Romance, ambition and greed, deceit and selfishness are at the root of this sensational Victorian novel by Braddon. As usual she manages to keep us in suspense until her well constructed surprise ending. - Summary by Celine Major Balder Dead (version 2) by Matthew Arnold Loyal Books The poem begins with the beloved god Balder, thought to be invulnerable, dead at the hands of the inoffensive blind god Hoder, in a game. Loki, whose deceit brought about this catastrophe, is promptly punished with exile, and Odin, Balder's father, sponsors a heroic quest to rescue his son from the land of the dead. This desperate venture unexpectedly meets with partial success, a conditional agreement to release Balder if everyone in the land of the living mourns his death. And even though over every hope hangs the threat of the ultimate end of the reign of the Norse gods, the mother of the gods points out that "much must yet be tried which shall but fail." The Gambler by Katherine Thurston Loyal Books Clodagh, 18 years old, is the eldest daughter of Dennis Asshlin, an Irish gentleman who lives in an area of Ireland called Orristown. Dennis is passionate, proud and indebted to no one. But, Dennis has an obsession with gambling that is leading the family to ruin. When tragedy strikes, Clodagh finds herself in a situation where she must defend the family honor because “no Asshlin is ever obliged to anyone”. She marries a man she does not love who is many times her age and is thrust from adolescence to adulthood literally overnight. Clodagh travels to Europe and mingles with people of society and fashion which through her immaturity, she believes is her right. She finds instead uncertainty, despondency, and deceit. Her emotions are constantly in battle with reality as she discovers her society acquaintances are not the “friends” she believes them to be. During her visit to Europe, Clodagh discovers that she too is burdened with the Asshlin curse for gambling which eventually leads to mo The Toys of Peace and other papers, by Saki Richard Crowest ‘We are merely trammelled by the ordinary decent conventions of civilised society.’A series of professionally produced readings of the penultimate collection of satirical short stories by Saki (H H Munro).
