GALATIANS 5:22-23 LOVE: phileo: affection, sentiment, feeling agape: values, esteems; unselfish 1 John 4:7-8 agape: steadfast; perseverant unconditional action total acceptance 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Agape requires self-sacrifice. 1 John 4:9-12 It is impossible to love God with everything we are if it does not also evidence itself in an increase of our love for other people. 1 John 4:19-20 agape: "I see you as you are, and I love you." Matthew 5:43-45 Love for God and for others was central to Jesus’ vision of how to be human. Love your enemies: pray for them. Romans 5:8 John 13:44-45
