There are two factors that effect the intensity of gratitude. First, the deservedness factor. If we are undeserving of an act of kindness, our gratitude is much higher. Second, the generosity factor. If we are given a large sum of money for a small task, we are very grateful! Apply the same to God. We are undeserving of his blessings. He has given us so much more than we deserve. As we answer the questions of deservedness and generosity, we are stunned by the generosity of our God. The effect. We overflow with gratitude in praise to him and in generosity towards the world.
