Genesis 31 - God sees it even if no one else does

from The On Ramp: Daily Bible Reading

Today we’re reading Genesis 31 from the New Living Translation.R.A.M.P. (READ-APPLY-MEDITATE-PRAY)READ: Here is something I noticed…God will see it even if no one else does (vs 50).This chapter tells the story of Jacob’s separation from his uncle Laban. As you read the story, you’ll see there were issues & hurt on both sides. As they part ways, they made a covenant together - a promise not pass that place for the purpose of harming one another, and for Jacob a promise that he would not mistreat Laban’s daughters. Jacob and his family set up a pile of rocks as a monument, and they called by a name that means “witness pile.” The truth they acknowledged was this: God was the witness (vs 50) and the judge between them (vs 53) - He would see the actions, even if no one else does. APPLY: Remember, and don’t forget that God sees everything. This can be incredibly encouraging - or incredibly convicting! MEDITATE: So much of today’s reading in Hebrews 10 applies here! Specifically, check out Hebrews 10:35-39. I hope it encourages you. PRAY: Let’s pray to be people who do the right thing… always! What did you get from today's reading?
