Genesis 7-What did God see in Noah?

R.A.M.P. (READ-APPLY-MEDITATE-PRAY)Here is what I READ: From the last verse of chapter 6, into chapter 7, Noah did everything as the LORD commanded him (vs 5).God saw that Noah alone was righteous (vs 1).There were more than just two of some animals - specifically 7 pairs of those approved for eating and sacrifice, and 7 pairs of every kind of bird (vs 2-3).God was specific in sharing His plans. He told Noah exactly when the rain would start, and how many days it would rain (vs 4a). He was also clear about the purpose of the flood (vs 4b)The LORD was the one who closed the door to the boat (vs 16).God wiped out everything. The only ones who survived were those in the boat with Noah (vs 23).When God looked at Noah, He saw someone who alone was righteous. Let that sink in. There wasn’t anyone else in God’s eyes who fit that description. He saw someone who stood in stark contrast to the surrounding culture. Noah didn’t conform to the morals and standards of the day. If he had, God would not have called him to this task. God saw a man who did everything as he was commanded. There was no partial obedience. APPLY:If I want to be used by God, I must worship Him in the details. Am I living righteously? Am I obedient to what He has commanded? Noah’s obedience had a far reaching impact on those closest to him - his family. I can’t help but think that if we exercise radical obedience, we might see God do some things around us that we never thought possible! MEDITATE:“It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before.
