We're looking at temperatures soaring 50 degrees to 50 degrees above normal by late week. Spring is knocking early. In the next 24 hours. Here's the breakdown. Metro Atlanta sits at 51 degrees early this morning, climbing to 76 by late afternoon. Partly cloudy skies roll in tonight with a low around 51. Down along the coast, you're starting at 55 degrees with a high near 75. But watch out. Fog rolls in after 1 A.M. Tonight and could cut visibility to near zero by morning. Eastern Georgia starts at 50 degrees and warms to 78 under mostly sunny skies. Patchy fog develops there after 3 A.M. A quick note for our eastern counties. Burke. Emanuel. And Jenkins. A Flood Warning remains in effect for the Ogeechee River at Midville until Friday morning. Minor flooding is occurring. Avoid flooded roads. Wednesday brings more warmth. Atlanta hits 76. Coastal Georgia reaches 75 with fog clearing by mid-morning. Eastern Georgia tops out at 78 under sunny skies. Thursday through the weekend. We crank up the heat. Highs climb into the low 80s across much of the state. That's well above normal for early March. By Friday, rain chances return. Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely Saturday through Monday as a weather system moves through. No severe weather expected, but keep an umbrella handy for weekend plans.
