Getting Curious - We've Got to Start Somewhere

from What’s Mental about Health? (The Workplace Seminars) · host Steve Hoblyn

In this, our first podcast seminar, we cover some of the basics at a high level, ready to go deeper into each one, and into other areas, in later episodes. We meet Terence the Roman Commentator, we discuss Ok-ness, definitions of health and mental health, potential causes with reference to the bio-psycho-social model, or is it the bio-bio-bio model? We introduce a continuum, discuss some of the initial realities of diagnosis, talk stats, begin looking at the rudimentary of stress, and how we can begin to resource ourselves. Can we be s.e.l.f.i.s.h. to live better lives? Not bad for about 30 minutes! This session is here to begin our journey into curiousity about a subject that should not be one of stigma or discrimination. It is a topic where the distress and risk is very real, but how we got there and how we recover (yes that can be achievable) is different for each of us.
