Apesar de ser um tema recente no Brasil, a discriminação de pessoas gordas tem gerado reivindicações e movimentos contra a gordofobia. Comportamentos ofensivos, ridicularizações e a falta de acessibilidade para corpos gordos são alguns dos tipos de violência enquadrados como gordofóbicos. Mesmo não sendo considerada como um crime, a prática pode ser enquadrada como injúria e gerar danos morais.  Na primeira parte do episódio, Michelle Stammet conversa com a professora do Curso de Psicologia do Campus Poços de Caldas Fernanda Resende e com a psicóloga Samantha Ferreira. Na segunda parte, o episódio conta com a participação da aluna do Curso de Ciências Sociais Victoria Marinho, que está desenvolvendo Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso sobre os movimentos de luta contra a gordofobia e pela aceitação dos corpos nas redes sociais, orientada pela professora Lúcia Lamounier, também entrevistada. A professora Fernanda Resende é graduada em Psicologia pela PUC Minas. Mestre em Educação: Conhecimento e Inclusão Social pela UFMG e doutora em Educação pela USP. É professora do Curso de Psicologia no Campus Poços de Caldas. Samantha Elisa de Oliveira Ferreira é psicóloga formada pela PUC Minas em Poços de Caldas, pós-graduanda em Psicanálise e pesquisadora do Corpo Gordo. É diretora geral do Coletivo Feminista de Poço Fundo. Victoria Marinho é graduanda em Ciências Sociais e integrante do coletivo Corpo Gordo BH. Atualmente, realiza Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso sobre Ativismos Digitais de Luta contra a Gordofobia em Belo Horizonte - MG. A professora Lúcia Lamounier é doutora em Ciências Sociais, mestre em Comunicação Social e pesquisadora do grupo do CNPQ Mídia e Memória. Atualmente, tem pesquisado temas sobre mulheres e crime e ativismo nas redes digitais.
