We study John chapters 5-6. In John chapter 5, we learn about God’s “sovereign work” and God’s “promised work” through the healing of the man at the pool of Bethesda. We identify five areas where the Lord Jesus claimed equality with the Father. We also observe how the Lord Jesus as the Son of God walked in submission to the Father. In John chapter 6 we come to understand the two aspects Jesus pointed to when He spoke about us eating His flesh and drinking His blood. We also discuss the balance of divine sovereignty and human responsibility or predestination and free will.
